Jorge Palinhos has a degree in Modern Languages and Master in Text Studies by University of Porto. He has worked in theatre since 2003 and a playwright and dramaturge. Several of his plays have been staged and published in Portugal and abroad. He co-founded the theatre troupe Terra na Boca and studied playwriting with Guillermo Heras, Hans-Thiers Lehmann, Jean-Pierre Sarrazac, Mick Gordon, Michael Bradford, Andrea Thome, Jose Sanchis Sinisterra, Neil LaBute, Raimondo Cortese e Thomas Bakk, Linda Seger, Goran Radovanovic, Ahmed Boulane, Paulo Filipe Monteiro e Vergílio de Almeida, having worked with the directors Luciano Amarelo, Nuno M. Cardoso, Nelson Baskerville, Lautaro Vilo, Joaquim Guerreiro, Pedro Alves, Sanja Mitrovic, Rui Mendonça, Valdemar Santos, Sílvia Correia, Pedro Rosa, Pedro Oliveira, José Eduardo Silva, Diana Sá, etc. He has been researching contemporary drama in connection with action and power. He edits the journal Drama, from the Portuguese Association of Screenwriters and Playwrights, member of the scientific comittee of the journal Persona. Currently he is a director of Plateia and is doing a research on contemporary drama with funding by FCT.
